Like the Original Thin, our newest sandwich is an accidental discovery resulting from Lizzie's practice of making herself lunch out of Scraps Lying Around. "Hey, that tastes good!" she said, and then ate the same thing for the next four days. The Furry Lewis is a grilled sandwich on Jewish rye with smoked turkey, jalapeno havarti, mayo and honey mustard, with a big pile of cool crunchy lettuce added after grilling. Full Menu

When it comes to something like social networking on the web, we let the kids take the lead. They have convinced us to put Lake Street Market on Facebook. We agree that it's rather fun, especially when customers post comments. We also intend to use it as another outlet for updates on store news and events. So if you have a Facebook account, look for our page and click on "become a fan!"

Faithful fans waited years

After two and a half years - during which something like eight sandwiches were added to the menu - we have finally decided to make the leap and completely overhaul the website. Improvements already in place include our pizza menu, our complete list of sandwiches, and this first installment of a blog full of information of varying degrees of usefulness. Coming soon (and we mean it this time): a catering menu, calendar of community and Lake Street Market events, and online shopping for gift baskets and other items. Check back often!
